NC-AATG German Day 2019
During Spring 2019 I served as a co-organizer for the NC-AATG German Day event. The event brought 451 high school German students from 15 North Carolina High Schools to UNC-Chapel Hill to compete in a variety of creative language competitions. My primary responsibilities included organizing the registration and 4 of the competitions, arranging for the printing of T-shirts for the event, and calculating final results. More information about the event can be found at the website that my colleagues and I developed for the event.
Women's Studies Professional Development Workshops
I applied for and received funding from The Graduate School at Duke to organize a series of professional development workshops geared towards Feminist Studies Certificate students during the Spring and Fall semesters of 2016.

The first of these workshops was entitled: "Interdisciplinary Futures: Applying PhD Skills Throughout the University" and sought to highlight careers in university administration. For more information check out the blog post I wrote about the event.

The second workshop entitled "The Gender Studies Job Market: Applying for Academic Jobs in Interdisciplinary Fields" sought to provide a forum for students to receive concrete feedback about how to market themselves for tenure-track positions in Women's Studies or other allied fields.

  • Duke German Club Advisor
During the 2015-2016 academic year I served as an advisor to the undergraduate German Club at Duke. In this position I assisted undergraduate student leaders in organizing a weekly Kaffeestunde (speaking practice session for undergraduate students) and a year-long film series. In addition to actively planning and participating in these regular events I also helped organize additional German cultural events including a Fasching celebration, a German board game night, and an end of the year BBQ.
  • UNC Kaffeestunde
During my first year in the Carolina-Duke Program I was co-leader of a weekly German practice session for undergraduate students at UNC. I organized refreshments for the participants and helped generate discussion between German students of all levels, giving them all an opportunity to improve their language skills and to meet other students taking German.
  • German Campus Weeks Film Series
During Spring Semester 2014 I organized a film series on "Germany in Europe" as a part of that year's German Campus Weeks at Duke (sponsored by the German Embassy).  I also integrated the film series into my German 101 course by having my students design a poster (in German and in English) advertising the event. The winning poster can be seen below:
